You can:
- Invest through stockbrokers who have access to global markets. RBI’s Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS) allows up to ₹2,50,000/year overseas investment.
- Invest via international mutual funds or ETFs tracking US/global indices.
- Funds under Gift City also offer the opportunity to invest globally under LRS route.
It is advisable to first build a well-diversified portfolio in Indian market before considering global investments. International exposure should form only a small portion of your overall portfolio, aimed at enhancing diversification, benefiting from global growth, and gaining access to companies not available in the Indian market. Consulting a financial advisor or a mutual fund distributor is recommended before making such investment decisions.
